Why do I have to log in with LinkedIn?

We use LinkedIn to populate your profile so that you don't have to re-enter all of your experience and education information in our app - this way as soon as users start connecting, they already have solid profiles set up. When the portal pops up for you to log in, that is LinkedIn asking you to log in - we cannot see your login information, nor do we store it anywhere on the app nor in our servers.

We only pull your LinkedIn data when you first set up an account, and then if you choose to re-sync your information at a later time (you have to login for each re-sync). We never have continuous access to your LinkedIn profile. We do not and will not ever provide third party access to your information.

How does The Pond keep my data secure?

We use strong security measures to ensure that only you can access your info. This involves measures such as Multi-Factor Authentication, data encryption in transition and at rest, and identity verification to make sure your data is never compromised.

Is The Pond free to use?

The Pond is free and always will be! We plan to add optional premium features in the future to enhance your experience.

How can I get better matches?

There are three things you can do to get better matches:

  1. Be as specific as possible about who you're looking for in a co-founder or early-stage team member.
  2. Fill out your profile in as much detail as possible.
  3. Use the app regularly! This will put your profile in front of more potential connections.
